Outline

The course discusses accessibility basics and covers WCAG2 success criteria, providing correct examples and specific writing techniques. Training includes issues such as:
  • Writing accurate ALT attributes
  • Alternatives to PDFs
  • Creating accessible videos and transcripts
  • Simple data tables
  • Writing accurate link text
  • Writing accurate headings and titles
  • Skip links
  • Use of colour, use of sensory characteristics, use of location (eg. left, right, above)
  • Focus order and meaningful sequence
  • Advisory techniques such as coding abbreviations, line spacing, colour contrast etc

Each attendee will be provided with a training manual containing in-depth instructions on writing accessible content, including the following:
