Outline
The course discusses accessibility basics and covers WCAG2.2 success criteria, providing correct examples and specific writing techniques.Training includes issues such as:
- Writing accurate ALT attributes
- Alternatives to PDFs
- Creating accessible videos and transcripts
- Simple data tables
- Writing accurate link text
- Writing accurate headings and titles
- Skip links
- Use of colour, use of sensory characteristics, use of location (e.g. left, right, above)
- Focus order and meaningful sequence
- Advisory techniques such as coding abbreviations, line spacing, colour contrast, etc.
Several exercises are conducted throughout the course, allowing for participant engagement and furthering understanding. These exercises include:
- Writing ALT attributes
- Identifying incorrect page titles
- Adding headings
