Outline

This course covers training on developing accessible PowerPoint documents and includes the following principles of document accessibility:

  • Text
  • Titles and headings
  • Meaningful sequence
  • Color and color contrast
  • Tables

This is combined with specific instructions and exercises on creating the following in PowerPoint:

  • Setting language
  • Accessible themes and templates
  • Slide layout
  • Text size and text boxes
  • Unique slide titles
  • Slide reading order
  • Alternative text for images, shapes, text boxes and objects
  • Tables
  • Links

The Accessibility Checker will be demonstrated, as well as why it is not always accurate.

Attendees work on a document of their own choosing throughout the day.

Handouts

Each person will receive a training manual and six months’ access to OzWiki.

What you should bring

Optional: Participants have the opportunity to work on their own documents, therefore it is recommended each person bring a PowerPoint document.
