WCAG2 for content authors and managers

Outline

The course discusses accessibility basics and covers WCAG2 success criteria, providing correct examples and specific writing techniques.

Training includes issues such as:

  • Writing accurate ALT attributes
  • Alternatives to PDFs
  • Creating accessible videos and transcripts
  • Simple data tables
  • Writing accurate link text
  • Writing accurate headings and titles
  • Skip links
  • Use of colour, use of sensory characteristics, use of location (e.g. left, right, above)
  • Focus order and meaningful sequence
  • Advisory techniques such as coding abbreviations, line spacing, colour contrast, etc.
Several exercises are conducted throughout the course, allowing for participant engagement and furthering understanding. These exercises include:
  • Writing ALT attributes
  • Identifying incorrect page titles
  • Adding headings
